WHAT YOU’LL DO
As the Project Director, your main focus is leading design and construction management teams of commercial projects and facilities, including feasibility and due diligence work on behalf of our clients. You will lead projects within Omicron’s Industrial, Commercial and Interiors Sectors, and be responsible for the coordination, and performance of the team in achieving the overall project or development objectives.
You will provide technical support to the design disciplines as well as oversee the overall design development and construction management responsibility of the project. You will represent the company externally to the marketplace and proactively build and maintain a network of contacts and ensure client retention. You will play an important role in in the development and execution of Omicron’s strategic plan.
Act as the prime client contact and ensure client satisfaction. Provide business delivery recommendations for clients founded in deep understanding of our client’s drivers and challenges.
Ensure corporate and client standards, processes and templates are adhered to by team members, including compliance with Omicron’s Integrated Project Delivery Process and Governance Policy.
Mentor, coach and support all project team members. Lead by example and demonstrate effective project management skills in all aspects of the project.
Oversee career development of team members in line with corporate strategy and core values.
Provide pre-construction leadership to the design team to deliver value-based solutions, prepare project budgets, review constructability and liaise with trade contractors.
Oversee the coordination and timely completion of project requirements in collaboration with key project stakeholders.
Through the guidance of the SVP, Integrated Project Delivery, and respective Sector Directors, engage in business development activities within existing and new client bases
7 to 10 years’+ experience in a design and construction environment with a business development background
Excellent Outlook and MS Office suite skills
Proven experience using MS Project to track, plan and coordinate projects
Knowledge of Provincial building codes, building envelope, and contract law
Proven experience managing a variety of complex projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines
Superior project scheduling skills including development, design, permits, procurement and construction
Possess sufficient knowledge of all design disciplines and construction relationships on projects required to monitor the quality and completeness of work
Demonstrated experience preparing project budgets including soft and hard costs and contingencies
