Job Title: Social Worker

Reports to: Executive Director

Supporting Team Excellence with Patients Society (STEPS) is a not-for-profit society located in Kamloops BC. We strive to model and drive solutions to access and delivery of team-based quality health care. In May 2018, STEPS operationalized Orchards Walk Medical Clinic (OWC) where we deliver in-person and virtual care. Currently, our growing team includes family physicians, nurse practitioner, registered nurse, dietitian, diabetic nurse educator, respiratory therapist, and administrative team.

Covid-19 continues to impact the lives of our clients and we have been successful in receiving funding to address social determinants of health for our clients. As such, we are looking for an energetic, kind, compassionate team player to join our team to provide social work services support for our clients. This person will work collaboratively with providers to provide mental health and other social work services to maintain and/or improve the health and social well-being of our population. Other duties may be required.

This is a term certain full-time (35-40 hours per week) employment position starting immediately and ending November 30, 2020. The incumbent must have a vehicle, be willing to do local travel (millage paid), and be willing to work virtually from home and in-office as required. The schedule is flexible and determined in collaboration with the OWC team. There will be a combination of virtual working from home, and in-person work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited university.
  • Two years recent related experience in a healthcare setting working with medically complex clients with concurrent disorders, or a combination of education, training and experience.
  • Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
  • Current valid BC driver’s license.
