Leaf Landscaping is a Winnipeg-based landscape construction and property maintenance company. We offer services such as weekly lawn cutting, snow removal, landscape design and construction for both residential and commercial clients.

We are currently hiring for the position of Equipment Operator. This is a full-time, year-round position. We operate in all seasons and ensure there are no lags in employment or lay-off periods. In the summer months we typically work 50+ hours per week. During the winter our staff work on an on-call basis, as snow removal is weather-dependent, however you will be paid for a minimum of 40 hours per week, even if it doesn’t snow.

We always have plenty of work lined up and can offer employees a great opportunity to grow with the business. As an Equipment Operator, we would ask you to do the following:

  • Operate the skid steer and loader – summer landscaping projects / winter snow removal.
  • Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks.
  • Conduct pre-operational safety and maintenance checks on equipment, secure special attachments to equipment and perform minor repairs to equipment.
  • When required, assist other operators, labourers and trades.

Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to proven experience and ability in the operation of construction equipment (and attachments) such as a front-end loader and skid steer, as well as experience in maintenance and construction of roads, sidewalks, driveways, etc.

You must also have:

  • The ability to maintain accurate records and to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • The ability to deal courteously with customers.
  • Thorough knowledge of Provincial and City traffic laws.
  • The availability to work rotating shift /weekends/overtime and standby.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations that apply to this work.
  • The physical capability to perform required duties and be able to work in all weather conditions, including driving in adverse and inclement weather for long periods of time.

This job often requires more than an 8-hour day. You need a strong work ethic and a team player mentality to enjoy a positive work experience with us. You will also need transportation to get to and from our shop, located on the northern outskirt of Winnipeg. There is no bus service near our location.

Pay is based on experience and education. We also offer perks and incentives! If you are interested in learning more, or forwarding your resume and references for consideration please contact:
