Overview of role:
WestJet has been and will be significantly expanding its global network and the size of its business. As WestJet becomes more complex and challenging, we are seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join our Technology office with background in technology, information security, and development. The ideal candidate must adapt to a fast-evolving environment and capable of identifying and implementing capabilities using suitable technology platforms to meet business requirements in information security.
Partnering with the Manager, CyberSecurity Development and Technology, the CyberSecurity Analyst will collaborate closely with our Security Operations to drive operationalization of security platforms.
Key deliverables include:
Security platform development, configuration, onboarding, and integrations;
Create technical documentation to reflect the current operating environment;
Work with SecOps to capture requirements, demo functional capabilities, enable automation adoption to support WestJet strategy;
Liaise with cross-functional teams and collaborate with architecture to implement security requirements;
Enable the development of continuous cybersecurity compliance through supporting security platform onboarding of applicable technologies;
Identify and develop automation capabilities that help optimize cybersecurity management;
Support application security testing;
Work with cybersecurity teams to capture use cases for technology requirements, integration, and control requirements to implement security platforms;
Support security event data source onboarding, content generation to normalize and analyze events for security threats.
Experience and qualifications:
Post-secondary education in information technology or related discipline;
Demonstrate strong understanding of cybersecurity domains;
At least 1 years of development experience;
At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity including implementing security technologies;
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure is preferred;
Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Terraform is preferred;
A passion for problem-solving: creative, comfortable with ambiguity and willing to challenge historical assumptions and conventions;
Experience working in agile teams.
