Bad design exists all around us. From incomprehensible street signs, to doors that don’t open the way you expect. Software is no exception. ERP systems are powerful and complex tools that take care of the entirety of a business’s operations. But the sad reality is that most of them suck because they’re designed so poorly. So, we figured we’d have a go at redesigning it. After all, we’re a software company that aspires to make tools that are a pleasure to use.
We’re looking for someone whose goal is to eliminate even a little bit of the bad design in the world. If you’re someone who is curious about how the form and function of things influence user behaviour, and who likes to pick apart how things are designed in order to find something better, this might be the gig for you.
You’ll be involved in the aesthetic direction of everything we do with our product. You’ll work with the product management team to turn user requirements into a seamless user experience, use design elements like iconography and white space to guide that experience and translate customer needs into thoughtful design solutions.
Here at Jonar, you’ll work with inspiring people who care about what they do and want to help you achieve your goals. We believe in the importance of empowering our team by providing them with real and impactful projects. So, you’ll be given real-life problems and be asked to come up with innovative solutions. You’ll be given a lot of creative freedom, but will have the resources to back you up if you’re lost or stuck.
We get that committing to a full-time position can be scary. There’s a chance you might get trapped in a job that you don’t enjoy and that can be daunting. That’s why all our full-time hires start out in a 3-month paid internship so we can both test the waters. At the end of 3-months, we’ll decide together if it’s a great long-term fit.
Still worried about not having enough experience? Don’t worry. You’ve got this! Although some UX/UI design experience is an asset, we’re more concerned about your ability to learn than your current list of skills.
Start Date: As soon as we find the perfect candidate!
