A ROLE YOU WILL LOVE

The Research Specialist will be accountable to ensure adequate research has been undertaken to locate lost shareholders and is accountable for achieving revenue through lost shareholder research activities. They will develop case by case specific research strategies and plans to find lost shareholders and drive revenue as well as conduct analysis and research on shareholder registration information, and provide legal requirements advice for stock transfer.

Primary Accountabilities

Drive revenue through quality research of designated shareholder accounts
Create effective research strategies to increase profitability and client satisfaction
Proactively conducts analysis and research on shareholder registration information to source viable leads to locate lost shareholders, or their beneficiaries, relatives or heirs
Provide high level assistance in the stock transfer process by offering advice and direction on legal requirements for participation and directions to available support resources
Effectively handle multiple assignments, deadlines and priorities
Proactively manage assigned accounts. Must display absolute dedication and commitment to servicing the program at hand – whether it be a response to a query, complaint or action item
Identify and evaluate new search tools and resources
Keep up to date on Client/Program specifics, business strategy changes, and legal updates
Travel to libraries, courthouses and genealogy research centers may be required

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Good knowledge of PC applications: word processing, excel and e-mail is required
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. French is an asset
Strong research and problem-solving skills
Ability to be resourceful and navigate through ambiguity
Positive and professional communication skills

Education and Experience

Post-secondary degree preferred in related field
Experience working in libraries or researching family trees is an asset

Language Ability

Ability to read/comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one-on-one/small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

Mathematical Ability

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
