Omnitrans Inc. is seeking a System Administrator to join a high-performing IT team focused on the highest degree of service excellence.
Reporting to the IT Manager, the System Administrator will be responsible for day to day operations of hardware and operating systems at all locations.
The ideal candidate will manage outstanding support issues with external vendors and internal hardware tech. The role will involve diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing systems, providing internal IT user support, and providing onsite and remote hardware and software support to clients.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware including servers, SAN, NAS, firewalls, switches, routers, phone, and software systems and related infrastructure.
Maintain and ensure WAN, LAN, and other telecom services such as MPLS to meet users capacity, availability and reliability needs.
Assist in migration and management of on premise systems to data center(s).
Manage multiple platforms including Windows, VMWare, and Citrix and all associated software.
Responsible for implementing, and monitoring security measures to protect server, network, workstations, mobile devices and data. These include IPS, IDS and NAC.
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions and resolve or escalate as required.
Ensure backups of all enterprise data are being performed in a timely manner and resolve any issues if required.
Manage Active Directory privileges, access rights and computer environment using group policy.
Ensure system infrastructure is operating efficiently by monitoring and maintaining servers, workstations, and peripherals and performing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
Install new software applications, software or firmware releases, evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems.
Use a ticket management software to track progress on issues until resolved.
Assist Level 1 help desk agents and Level 2 desktop support technician.
Conduct research on software and systems to support system improvements.
Deal with vendors. Submit orders and follow-up hardware purchases and ensure timely delivery. Coordinate with outside services technicians to solve problems related to equipment.
Create and maintain documentation of environment and application configuration

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or 2 year college degree program in an IT discipline.
Minimum 5 years proven technical skill and experience working with servers, virtualization, and infrastructure.
MCSE, virtualization, and security certifications an asset.
Must have driver’s license and access to car
Must be able to enter United States
Willing to work off-hours during required system projects
Prepared to work after hours IT support and be part of on-call rotation
Independent, self-motivated individual with strong follow-up skills
