PROJECT COORDINATOR, SAFETY PROGRAMS MANAGEMENT
CONTRIBUTING TO THE CMPA
Safety Programs Management supports the expansion of CMPA system safety programs and increased ability to plan, measure, and report on the impact of member and stakeholder activities to enhance safe medical care. The department designs and implements processes and systems to support operational decision-making and demonstrates accountability to senior management and council for safe medical care initiatives and activities.
The Project Coordinator, Safety Programs Management (SPM) is a critical resource for the department Director, Manager, and the Specialists within the department. The Project Coordinator provides support in a variety of ways including incorporating group level, Association level, and external perspectives and priorities into the planning and management of projects to facilitate reporting and impact assessment of group activities. Support oversight of key projects where the scope reaches beyond one team or where multiple internal and/or external stakeholders are involved, as well as support to SMC external stakeholder relationship management.
Supporting SMC wide meeting planning such as the quarterly update, management meetings, and others as needed
Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings
Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings
Maintaining and monitoring project plans and project schedules
Supporting corporate initiative execution within the SMC group
Facilitating meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members
Supporting group level and program level reporting
Providing administrative support as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Diploma or Certificate Program (2-3 years), University degree would be an asset
Project management training is an asset
Knowledge of project management and process improvement methodology
4-6 years of related work experience including a minimum of four years’ experience coordinating projects.
Knowledge of databases and query reporting, electronic scheduling systems (e.g. Outlook), Internet, electronic document management systems and other business applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Experience using computers for a variety of tasks such as basic spreadsheet manipulation, editing documents, booking meetings, developing presentation slides.
Knowledge of Software and Computer applications: MS Office
Ability to manage multiple tasks of various sizes and complexity while meeting deadlines
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, with tact, diplomacy and professionalism.
Attention to detail is critical.
Strong analytical and coordination skills
This position is classified at Level 7 - salary range is $55,504 to $72,156 annually
