One of our divisions - Marquise Hospitality, is currently looking for Part time Cook for it's Weston Terrace Care Community in Toronto, ON.

Location: 2005 Lawrence Ave West, Toronto, ON
Wage: $19.60 per hour
Hours: 15 hours weekly (opportunity to get more hours)

Prepare and/or be responsible for the preparation/delivery of all foods for residents, guests and employees;
Follow menu and production documentation when preparing food.
Ensure use of proper food handling techniques;
Complete daily temperature audits for fridge, freezers and storerooms
Prepare and serve foods for therapeutic /specialty diets according to planned menus;
Make menu substitutions as necessary and record these in designated place;
Ensure service of meals and nourishments are on time.
Follow daily production charts, standardized recipes and daily composite menus
Comply with all provincial/municipal regulations and established dietary department policies and procedures;
Participate actively in planning/preparing special occasion and theme meal days;
Attend department and facility staff meetings, in-services and other necessary training sessions;
Follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures
Must be able to just in when staff shortage to ensure great service continues for the customers.
Complete all other tasks as assigned by Manager.

Qualifications

Completion or Current Enrolment-Food Service Worker Program
Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook.
Food Handling Certification is a must
Certificate from a recognized cooking school.
Previous experience in the healthcare environment an asset
Good organizational skills and ability to multitask
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Able to communicate with managers, other employees and residents
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Previous Hotel experience an asset
Knowledgeable of the Provincial Food Premises Regulation and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating;
Knowledge of and experience with special and therapeutic diets;
Physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift;
