Mold-Masters® is a world leading supplier of hot runner technology and systems. We design, manufacture and support a full range of hot runner products that are used in the production of plastic products - from automotive to everyday consumer items.

The Hot Half Assembler Located in Georgetown, ON will be responsible for performing operations in preparation, combination, and connection of various components into a complete Hot Runner System. The Hot Half Assembler is responsible for the complex assembly of the Mold Plate as well as the multiple tests involved with assembly. The electrical, water pressure, heat and pneumatic tests are essential to ensure production meets customer, company and ISO standards. The test results are given to the customer and are critical to the Mold-Master Warranty.

Hot Half Assembler Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prepare mold plate by cleaning, deburring, inserting plugs, leader pins, bushings, name plate, electrical box, and perform a plate water pressure test, recording the results on the Mold Plate Assembly Certificate;

Ensure manifold plate thickness and nozzle bore depths meet correct specifications;

Prepare hot runner systems components - install seals, and thermocouples, torque assembly, and torque;

Ensure nozzles are installed within tolerance limit, and label zones on wires;

Troubleshoot by performing turning, milling, drilling, and/or grinding as required to accurately fit components to the hot runner system;

Machine locator pin to size, fit and install into manifold and secure;

Prepare electrical box, install nozzle wires in corresponding zones as per electrical drawing specifications;

Conduct electrical tests as required and record results on the Mold Plate Assembly Certificate;

Perform heat test on the Hot Runner System – hook up department or customer heat controller to ensure electrical system is functioning correctly, and record results on the Mold Plate Assembly Certificate;

Perform a pneumatic test on the hydraulic plate system as required;

Ensure that all machining/assembly tasks are completed in accordance with specified run times to meet customer delivery schedule;

Conduct minor preventative maintenance procedures as scheduled;

Complete minor troubleshooting as required;

Notify Team Leader when run times are incorrect or product will not meet time lines;

Report discrepancies to the appropriate department;

Provide guidance and/or training for apprentices when required;

Make recommendations for productivity and/or method improvements;

Ensure ISO guidelines are followed; follow Job Instruction Sheets and Tag Procedures etc;

In this role the Hot Half Assembler will assemble and test prefabricated components using automatic machines, equipment, hand, and power tool
