The Administrative Support IV- Leave of Absence Administration in the LOA Administration Department is an extremely specialized role in a high volume, complex environment where they administer and process employee leave events in accordance with all of AHS’s Collective Agreements and Management Out of Scope Guidelines. This position requires extensive knowledge of Alberta Health Services policies, procedures, benefit rules and guidelines and contracts, collective agreements, and various technological systems. The work is performed within a collaborative team that must deal with tight pay period driven time lines for over 100,000 employees. It takes one full year of training and experience to be fully competent in all the different tasks that the Administrative Support IV must perform. Some of the tasks include the proficient assessment and processing of complex and varied LOA transactions within established time and quality standards while confirming data accuracy, maintaining the appropriate controls for audit verification resulting in financial integrity. Providing expert advice and guidance to Managers, Employees, Resolutions Specialists & HRBP personnel. Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 to 5 years of current Leave of Absence experience with an aptitude for analytical work Required. Completion of postsecondary education (e.g. certificate in HR or business administration), or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Previous experience in HR Shared Services or HRBP or a similar working environment is required.
Direct Peoplesoft experience is considered an Asset. The ability to gather, analyze, and synthesize information within the framework of multiple collective agreements and AHS policies and procedures. Knowledge of Leave of Absence, occupational health and safety, payroll, and related processes in a diverse health care environment. Must be proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Experience working in direct contact with clients via telephone and email.
