Sunshine Coast Health Centre is a private residential treatment centre for addictions and mental health in Powell River, BC. We are a licensed and accredited residential care facility as well as registered B Corp dedicated to helping clients transcend through their addictions through a collaborative and comprehensive program of counselling, medical, and psychiatric care.

Our compassionate team of counsellors, nurses, support staff, and other professionals is central to Sunshine Coast Health Centre’s ability to provide effective care. In anticipation of our new women’s program (The Georgia Strait Women's Clinic) launching later this year, we are adding two positions to our Client Services team, which need to be filled. Client Services Representatives provide a safe and supportive environment for clients at Sunshine Coast Health Centre. Client Services Representatives perform an important role for every client as a dedicated and knowledgeable support person, providing unbiased, compassionate, and empathetic care to meet our clients‘ needs while with us.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and assist clients during their time at SCHC in a professional, compassionate, and empathetic manner.
  • Develop and maintain supportive and advocating relationships with clients from arrival to departure.
  • Maintain and support client “culture and climate” at SCHC.
  • Empower clients during their treatment through collaboration, contribution, and presence.
  • Lead client admission and orientation for new arrivals.
  • Regularly check-in with new clients and ensure they are settling in after admission.
  • Guide clients to proper avenues when they have concerns.
  • Respond to and support client inquiries in collaboration with clinical staff as needed.
  • Lead client outings and coordinate off-site appointments as required.
  • Approve client requests for day passes or LOAs, following protocols and procedures.
  • Administer medications as requested, following protocols and procedures in place.
  • Collaborate with senior management and CEO with day to day activities and projects.
  • Maintain health & safety and emergency procedures as outlined in SCHC policies.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school graduate
  • Licensing: Valid class 4 drivers’ license
  • Certificates: Up to date level 1 first aid
  • Experience in health care and residential care an asset

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $19.00 /hour
