McKeil Marine Limited has an immediate opening for a Warehouse Service Technician on a full-time permanent basis based out of our Port Maitland warehouse. This position will ensure safe and proper working conditions for all long-term spares, parts, and/or equipment received, shipped or warehoused in Port Maitland in conjunction with overall inventory management. Overall goal is to have all equipment and parts in working condition when requested for projects for immediate shipment to a vessel and/or project location and, working with the Warehouse Coordinator, to assure proper identification, storage and entry into inventory system of equipment within the Port Maitland facility. Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and perform basic repairs where necessary on project equipment such as diesel engines, gear boxes, and hydraulic power packs that are entering (either return or new acquisition) the warehouse to ensure safe and proper working condition prior to storage in inventory;
Test and adjust units to specifications;
Inspect and test mechanical units to locate and diagnose faults and malfunctions;
Complete reports to record problems and work performed in planned maintenance system where required;
Confirm findings to determine whether to repair or replace broken or malfunctioning equipment or parts;
Perform regular planned maintenance inspection and maintenance overhaul work to all equipment in inventory according to cycle to ensure proper working condition;
Following inspection or repairs tag, protect, store and document all parts entering warehouse storage;
Stage, label and prepare shipment of requested parts and/or equipment as required utilizing shipment methods allocated for transport (cranes, trucks, etc.);
Receiving duties of equipment and/or parts returning from projects and stage for inspection, repair, and storage;
Inspect and ensure shipment received compares with invoice/manifest and other document(s) to ensure accuracy of goods received, including internal manifests for equipment shipped between storage locations, project sites or vessels;
Daily visuals and weekly control checks of inventory of warehouse for security;
Practicing good housekeeping techniques, ensure warehouse is organized, presentable and safe at all times; reporting any deficiencies immediately;
Liase to ensure all parts and equipment stored are added to fleet inventory database;
Responsible when assigned to aid in vessel check inspections to local tug/barge units located in the Port Maitland area for signs of wear/tear, security and report any concerns for immediate action; as per a checklist provided;
Other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time
Overtime hours may be required from time to time; based on operational demand

Previous welding, preventative maintenance and repair experience is essential
A diploma in a related technical background is considered an asset
Experience in a warehouse environment;
Experience with industrial equipment and/or machinery;
MS Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook;
Forklift certification an advantage, training provided;
Excellent written and verbal communication;
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs;
Manual dexterity, standing, kneeling, bending, and/or crouching;
Welding, Oxy and Acetylene experience is an asset;
Experience with variety of power (electric, pneumatic, etc.) and hand tools;
Valid Class G Driver’s Licence.
