Warehouse Associate – Crossroads C&I Calgary, Alberta Canada

Afternoon Shift - 6:00 am to 2:30 pm which includes an evening premium
Open Positions - 2
40 Hours a week with some overtime required

Objective
Receives, ships and records the movement of product, supplies, and materials to and from the company, moves product to and from the staging/docking area, and cleans and maintains the warehouse area.

Receiving of Product

Courteously greet trucking representatives and suppliers when they arrive at receiving area.

Coordinate trucking representatives to prepare shipments to be received

Move shipments into staging or docking area

Inspect shipments for compliance to specifications listed on Packing Slips. Count and verify products received with products ordered on Packing Slips. Record discrepancies or damaged material on purchase orders

Move product shipments into proper inventory areas

Shipping of Product

Review Packing Orders generated by Customer Service Department for product requirements to ship to customers. Observe customer specifications and special instructions on Packing Orders such as day and time of pick up, quantity of product, need to phone customer, etc.

Pick products from inventory to comply with specifications of Packing Slips.

Coordinate and assemble product for customer pick up at staging or docking area. This may require packaging product into boxes or plastic bags. Product shipments must be ready and prepared in the staging area when customers or trucking representatives arrive to receive product. Ensure that bills of lading (weigh bills) are prepared for shipment.

Courteously greet customers or trucking representatives as they arrive at shipping area.

For inter-branch shipments, move and pack products and materials into trucks or trailers efficiently and densely organized.

Coordinate and move products for customers or trucking representatives into shipping vehicles. This task may require operation of a forklift or jack or manual lifting of products and materials.

Requirements

Experience using various shipping and receiving equipment

Forklift license a plus

Read and comprehend packing orders

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Basic Computer skills

Safety Shoes required

Education and Experience

Completion of high school or GED required
Minimum of one-year related experience and/or training in a shipping or manufacturing environment
Ability to work in a fast pace environment and successfully meet deadlines
Ability to work in a team environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Highly motivated and results oriented
Strong, organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills
Solid problem solving, and consultative skills required
Dependability and ability to learn quickly.
Experience working in an International Standards Organization (ISO) managed environment

Physical Requirements

The work is performed in non-climate-controlled environment with moderate noise level. Must be capable of lifting a maximum of 23 kg. Must be capable of handling bulky boxes and materials. Standing for possibly long periods of time often is required. Fine motor skills required in operation and maintenance of fabrication equipment. Kneeling or crouching often required in operation or maintenance of fabrication equipment.
