We are currently looking for an IT professional to join our team as a full-time Systems Engineer. This person will be joining a dynamic, ops-focused team currently consisting of 3 other like-minded System Engineers specifically focusing on our Interactive Voice Response entity, Teligence. Each Engineer has the opportunity to bring their own expertise to the team, while learning and working with others on a daily basis. This collaborative environment allows us to ensure everyone works cohesively, and never stops improving their skills! This is a great opportunity to work with and learn from a team of seasoned Systems Engineers.

What You'll Do

As a Systems Engineer, you will be a part of a team that is responsible for the deployment, monitoring, maintenance and administration of over 300 physical and virtual production and development servers, with significant emphasis on Microsoft, Vmware, Amazon Web Services and Linux environments. Production servers include internal corporate, QA, and external customer systems. In addition, you will be accountable for the following:

Install, administer, support, tune, and troubleshoot enterprise Active Directory, Microsoft and Linux systems, storage area networks, backup environments and cloud services
Assist in translating business requirements into systems qualities and into repeatable design strategies that enable the following: adaptability, scalability, availability, re-usability.
Participate in the evaluation of vendor software targeted for possible integration into the systems or environment, including strategic applications, tools, and utilities.
Assist in defining the IT design methodology and best practices, as well as supporting the evaluation and selection of server hardware, operating systems and administrative tool sets to support our continuous improvement goals.
Install, administer, tune, support and troubleshoot the full suite of server applications, including but not limited to Exchange/Office365, SQL, IIS, WSUS, 3Par, Sophos, Zerto, Ngnix, AlienVault, Nagios, Cacti, Salt, Docker
Provide ongoing and instant technical assistance and support to all employees related to computer systems, software, and hardware
Ongoing contributions to and maintenance of the IT Wiki and other documentation related to operational tasks and projects
Deliver on projects while maintaining SLAs for operational tasks

A week as a Teligence Systems Engineer:
No week ever looks the same for a Systems Engineer at Teligence. There is a lot of flexibility; one day you may work from home and another will require your presence in the office. Regardless of location, each day consists of at least one team meeting where everyone has the opportunity to ask questions and provide answers.

Most recently, our Systems Engineer team has worked hard and succeeded in migrating to a cloud-based antivirus solution, retiring EOL SQL and Windows products, replacing third-party software with in-house written applications, and providing help to numerous colleagues with a variety of technical issues.

Please note:
This is a designated “on-call” position and will be subject to the conditions of the Company’s On-Standby/On-Call Policy. The on-call requirement for this position is the availability to provide 24x7 support when scheduled. On-call schedules rotate each week; each Engineer will remain on-call one week out of four. System Engineers are well compensated for committing to the on-call schedule with both monetary incentives and added time-off.

In addition, you also possess the following skills and experience:

Post-secondary education in Systems Administration with 3-5 years of professional experience
Exposure to deployment, migration or administration of Amazon Web Services cloud services
Strong understanding of networking, windows, and Linux
Strong background in Microsoft Office 365 and GSuite offerings
Solid experience in Vmware administration – must have experience with version 5.0 or later
Solid understanding of storage technologies, preferably with HPE 3Par
Nice to have certifications: AWS SysOps Administrator, MCSE, CCNA, VCP, CompTIA Linux+
