SUMMARY:
The Planner will be responsible for integrating the functions of Operations Planning, Purchasing and Production Control to generate the site production plan and develop and execute the production control strategy to meet the business plan. Scope of responsibility includes scheduling shop production, integration of incoming supply from other UTAS Landing Gear locations, incoming supply from external suppliers, managing work order, monitoring and reporting shortages, processing work orders, developing burn down plans, and support forecasting and managing sales latest estimates. This is a FT role.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare and participate in the weekly scheduling meeting, by production line or program, based on standard policies and procedures
Develop and validate daily Operations build and mitigation plan(s) and redirect and / or re-establish priorities, as required, in support of the Master Schedule
Release and manage Operations work orders to support Operations start dates as well as validating that all parts were allocated correctly to the given work orders
Ensure work orders are corrected in a timely manner each week to minimize aging work orders
Ensure kitting of material supports the daily build plan and process adhered to
Prioritize and sequence parts on hold back into Operations production line based on customer priority
Lead Gemba walk, twice daily, for designated product line and update visual boards with latest estimated Operations completion date to ensure transparency of production floor flow and schedule through Shipping
Participate in Gemba walks for other production lines to ensure familiarity in order to support and backfill Production Control needs
Facilitate "Andon" resolution and provide direction for quick response / quick resolution resulting in minimal disruption
Facilitate expedited material of critical part shortages to released work orders
Support Operations with expedite requests for removal and replacement of defective hardware and complete transactions in SAP, as required
Liaison between Production Control at other UTAS LS sites and Stockroom / Warehouse to communicate incoming part supply and ensure accuracy of stock transfers
Liaison to Shipping to ensure understanding of daily ship schedules
Conduct analysis on ability to meet engineering change requests based on capacity and provide recommendation to Master Scheduler who will support the Engineering Change Board Review
Management of ramp up / down of approved engineering changes to include gathering and segregating material with Quality, as required
Determine feasibility of Customer change request, as required
Interface with Program Management to stay abreast of Customer priorities and ensure Operations visual boards reflect priorities
Liaison between Operations Manager, Leads, Quality Supervisor, Procurement and Master Scheduling Manager
Coordinate with Quality for upcoming DCMA and customer inspection requirements and escalate to Quality Manager if risk to shipment to support customer need is at risk, as required
Coordinate with Spares team, weekly, to adjust Spares allocations in SAP
Demand Management - coordinate with Configuration Management to ensure identified BOM errors are corrected
SAP data cleanup is managed on a weekly basis to include work order alignment to current month and alignment of tail numbers, as applicable, if misaligned
Conduct On-Time Delivery root cause analysis and corrective action meetings with Operations, Quality, Program Management, and Procurement to support latest sales estimate gap analysis
Report standard weekly, monthly metrics and provide root cause corrective action where metrics do not meet target
Demonstrate awareness and understanding of the EHS policy and management system, the importance of conforming to EHS policies and procedures, and consequences of failing to comply with EHS policies and procedures.
Act as the ERP focal for site Operations e.g. root cause analysis identifies BOM error
Support achievement of ACE Gold activities, as required
Execute all tasks associated with the site macro plan objectives and site business plan, as required
Perform other duties as assigned.

Management of all work order, purchase order and sales order documentation in support of on time delivery and inventory accuracy; ensures and maintains integrity of accompanying paperwork
Act as liaison with external suppliers or sister divisions and/or internal support groups such as Production Planning, Quality Control, Shipping/Receiving and others for timely movement of manufacturing processes and materials
Co-ordinate and monitor movement of material and parts in relation to overall product progress; identify behind schedule programs and reports deviations to Operations Management; report overall performance of their product family against schedule when necessary
Manage on-time delivery to satisfy internal customer requirements
Manage inventory transactions including material issue, transfers between branch plants, receipts from work order closures
Issue pick slips, shipping memos and other documents as needed to support schedule
Compile and maintain manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in-process production reports and status and location of materials
Manage weekly health metric; outstanding STO Transactions
Obtain/Maintain information from other sites for intransit parts

Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
University degree in a related technical discipline with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required or in an absence of a degree, a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required
Experience in a Manufacturing environment, specifically in Production Control, Scheduling and Inventory Control
APICs certification preferred
Ability to conduct in-depth analysis resulting in development and execution of action plans for improvement
Strong organizational and time management skills
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications
Previous ERP experience (i.e. JD Edwards, Impressa, SAP) would be considered an asset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated organizational skills with a team-orientation
Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP
