We are currently looking for a Senior Procurement Manager to join our team. In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of centralized purchasing supplier performance, and inventory management procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Develops and implements strategic plan, policies, and processes for the operation of procurement activities across all channels of purchasing
Evaluate & enhance our operations in spend while evaluating and researching new opportunities relating to sources, materials and labour
Directs the bid, contract negotiation, and service contract processes
Designs and manages a process to evaluate supplier quotations using appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques that will ensure quality, price, delivery and after sales service
Provides leadership and guidance on developing and maintaining long-term agreements or contracts with suppliers
Work closely with all parts of the business leading or supporting all major procurement decisions
Work closely with Finance to ensure alignment with account payables function
Manage every aspect of the supply chain and notify the senior management team of any possible obstacles to ideal efficiency
Evaluate procurement decisions to ensure best decisions for Beedie, not solely a project or department
Institute policies and procedures for collecting and reporting key metrics that will reduce our expenses while increasing productivity
Perform cost analysis and set appropriate benchmarks
Create policies and procedures for risk management and mitigation

Desired Skills and Experience

Post-secondary education relating to purchasing management/administration; P.Log and / or PMAC certification
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or similar discipline and at least six years of experience in Purchasing Procurement, Estimating, and construction related activities. 10+ years purchasing and or distribution experience
Strong understanding reading and interpreting construction documents is preferred
Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
Strong strategic mindset, planning and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented, flexible and highly motivated with a strong work ethic and professional demeanor
Effective time management and organizational skills
Highly motivated self-starter required
