Department Overview

TD's Canadian Credit Cards division holds the position of #1 market share in Canada. TD Consumer and Business credit cards are distributed nationally, using our retail distribution network, direct response channels and key co-brand partnerships including Aeroplan. TD is a leader in direct to consumer affinity marketing by way of MBNA's hundreds of partnerships with financial institutions, retailers, non-profit organizations, sports teams, and other third-party organizations, including private label financing.

The TD Canadian Credit Cards team is responsible for strategy, product development, customer lifecycle management, and financial performance of all Canadian Credit Card products. TD Credit Cards leads the market in retail volume by providing a diverse suite of products and services.

The Senior Manager Regulatory Projects will be responsible to represent the overall Canadian Credit Cards business on complex regulatory projects – specifically the upcoming Consumer Protection Framework. This role will be responsible for completing the current state assessment and inventory of processes, complete a gap analysis to build out high level requirements. As lead, they will be accountable to assess the appropriate resource requirements to support the delivery of the project from a product perspective and the appropriate stakeholder engagement.

The successful candidate will bring with them extensive credit card knowledge on processes, sales channels, customer experience and delivery. In addition they will be able to bring consistency and leading practices to delivery teams and work closely with our Legal and Compliance partners and other Canadian Personal Banking business leads.

Job Description

Reporting to Canadian Credit Cards the role has following accountabilities:

Lead the successful delivery of a large, complex regulatory project for Canadian Credit Cards
Ensure effective and timely communication of project team status, successes and key issues to the executive leadership team
Undertake and coordinate the delivery of a variety of workstreams
Be the Subject Matter Expert/first point of contact for Credit Cards knowledge on processes, products and sales and delivery channels
Build out the business requirements for the project to address regulatory requirements and expectations ensuring the customer experience is kept at the forefront
Distill and report on issues within the project or program that merit attention from business owners and or 2nd Line Risk & Control Partners
Assess impacts, changes and or opportunities once the regulations are published with guidance from Compliance and Legal
Ensure risk issues are identified, managed and reported per enterprise policy/guidelines and ensure appropriate escalation processes are followed
Be closely tied into all other related initiatives in Cards and the Bank which would impact the approach being contemplated

Job Requirements

A strong understanding of business risk and regulatory compliance requirements
Strong experience in or knowledge across multiple risk domains, including compliance, privacy, anti-money laundering, operational risk, conduct and reputational risk, legal and technical risk
Exceptional knowledge of Cards business products/channels, processes, policies and procedures, and the current control environment
Ability to simultaneously support multiple workstreams
Proven leadership and influencing skills with the ability to make and advocate for decisions
Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the business and provide advice to the team and all levels of leadership
Ability to challenge status quo and be able to provide outside of the box solutions in solving control gaps or exposures and providing new and innovative ways of deliver new processes or products
Ability to manage work independently and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Proven interpersonal and relationship management skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to follow up on items or determine appropriate steps for timely escalation and/or resolution
Ability to deal with conflicting points of view and to effect creative and responsive solutions
Ability to assimilate and understand high volume of complex information and the ability to communicate in a concise and simple manner
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities
Organizational awareness acquired through experience in multiples roles
Sound knowledge in project development methodology

Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
