The position of Associate Manager, Corporate Communications develops and implements communications and issue management activities for a range of internal and external audiences. The individual will work collaboratively with management and business leads to develop effective communication strategies and plans, ensuring consistent use of key messages across a range of activities and tailors these messages toward specific audiences, including media, clients, field management, the company's financial consultants, and employees. He/she will appropriately manages issues that have the potential to be detrimental to the company; leverage opportunities to reinforce our key messages; and balance these objectives with the requirements related to regulatory and public disclosure. The successful candidate will also contribute to editorial direction and content for a range of internal and external publications, both printed and electronic.
Manage implementation of tactics;
Working with agency partner, roll out media relations campaigns,
Support field communications lead on advisor engagement programs
Ensure program roll outs are mapping to timelines and tracking to KPIs
Writing and editing;
Develop story angles and narratives
Lead writer for a variety of external and internal materials, including press releases, media pitches, advisor e-mails, communications to field operations, video scripts, and employee messages
Consultation with business leads and management;
Provide communications advice and recommendations to business counterparts
Serve as communications representative on various working committees
Work collaboratively with marketing counterparts to develop and recommend integrated engagement strategies
Communications strategy development and planning;
Work with communications colleagues as well as marketing and business stakeholders to develop targeted, creative communications plans that effectively engage audiences.
4+ years experience in a corporate or agency communications background, preferably with direct experience within the investment fund management and/or financial services industry
Post–secondary degree or diploma in Communications or Public Relations
Strong and versatile writer
Media relations experience
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines
Familiarity with social media trends
Ability to engage with senior management confidently
Strong Powerpoint skills
