Kinsight is a Non-Profit Organization that operates out of Tri-Cities and New Westminster. From infants to seniors, we serve over 2,000 families with children, youth and adults each year. Our work is guided by the people we serve and tailored to enhance growth, development and personal well-being. Pay: $19.45 - $22.65/hour

Hours: Full-Time (Monday – Friday) - 35 hours/week

Locations: Community Inclusion Programs


Under the guidance and support of the Community Inclusion Supervisor and through active team participation, the Community Support Worker will be responsible for providing assistance and support to people with developmental and physical disabilities. Community Support Workers will create and provide creative opportunities that facilitate learning and participation through accessing their community. These opportunities will reflect and respect the personal preferences goals and choices of each person. The activities focused on will include providing skills development through one to one teaching of individuals in the community - home visits, bus training, leisure skills, financial management, cooking, general household management and creating community connections.


  • Diploma in Human Services or equivalent education (e.g. Community Support Worker, Therapeutic Recreation)
  • Experience supporting people with a variety of abilities to access activities that take place in the community or one of the organization’s facilities
  • Experience providing support to adults with developmental and physical disabilities
  • Experience physically assisting people with personal care needs in a respectful and safe manner
  • Experience in the organization and facilitation of the Person Centered Planning Process
  • Positive behavioral support techniques, knowledge and experience in skill based training
  • Knowledge and ability to use augmentative communication, strong oral and written communication skills including report writing skills
  • Possess strong computer skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals and families
  • Class 5 Driver’s License; satisfactory driving record; required to use own vehicle;
  • Unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License an asset
  • Ability to interact effectively with individuals and families
  • Community Care First Aid/CPR, NVCI and Food Safe certificates
  • This position requires BCGEU union membership

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $19.45 to $22.65 /hour
