The host is responsible for greeting guests in a friendly manner, ensuring that they are seated in a timely fashion, quoting accurate wait times when necessary and seamlessly transferring responsibility for those guests to their server once seated.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Technology – must be comfortable using OpenTable (reservation management software), Maitre D’ (POS software), Word (used for menus) and Excel (for database purposes) on a day-to-day basis. Working with OpenTable online, TripAdvisor and Yelp to ensure that information is accurate and up-to-date.
Floor Management – Ensure tables are set to receive guests with reservations in advance of their arrival. The host must seat guests in a manner which ensures that servers are able to provide proper service, the kitchen is not overwhelmed and wait times are kept short. The host is responsible for guests until their table has been greeted by a server.
Reservation Management – Ensuring that reservations are recorded in the computer, and necessary preparations are made by responsible parties. The host will work with online services and social media to promote increased guest traffic.
Guest Satisfaction – Support the company’s Standards of Service and consistently provides exceptional hospitality to all visitors. Ensure that all telephone and electronic requests are responded to in the same day.
Clerical Duties – Greet all guests as they enter the restaurant and assist accordingly. Maintain daily duties including; setting up the host stand, reviewing and understanding all function sheets and coordinating with Guest Relations and Retail Teams for seamless execution of all daily happenings and events.
Communication/Organization - Attend team and channel meetings as requested and ensure all relevant information is communicated and acted upon. Make communication a priority with assistance from e-mail, voice mail, written communication and proprietary software.
Product Knowledge – Develop and communicate in-depth product knowledge of Ravine Vineyard. The Host must have an exhaustive understanding of all of the food on the restaurant menu, as well as all wine produced by Ravine Estate Winery. He or she must also be familiar with all of the services offered on site (special events, retail services, guest relations services, etc.).

Ability to manage high traffic requirements.
Ability to sell all winery products to visitors and maintain high level of product knowledge.
Ability to follow Standards of Service.
Ability to communicate clearly and accurately to guests.

Booking multiple winery experiences
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Post secondary education is preferred with an emphasis on tourism or customer service
Shift work required.
Flexible work schedule, including the ability to work evening and weekends.
Works with company employees and general public on continual basis.
Lifting or moving up to 50lbs may be required.
Ability to be on standing and walking for long periods of time.
