What is the opportunity?

In this role you will be managing multiple projects within Capital Markets, Quantitative & Technology Services – Operations IT, and align those projects to the CM QTS strategy and regulatory obligations.

This role entails managing the delivery of functionality implemented by the RBC QTS team, working closely with our partners, running concurrent project and work streams utilizing shared resources, with aggressive timelines. In addition tracking financials with respect to resource, vendor and implementation costs against all deliverables.

Special conditions: this role will require approx. 25% travel to New York office.

What will you do?

Perform all standard project management functions including financial planning and control, task decomposition and execution, proactive risk and issue management, project health checks, verbal and written communication to stakeholders and senior management.
Adopt Iterative Waterfall and Agile methodologies and use them as a mechanism to improve the quality of deliverables, reduce project duration and mitigate risk.
Work in partnership with the RBC IT and partners, including vendors to scope, define, analyze, estimate, budget and oversee large scale IT projects (including infrastructure, data, systems and business process) from start to finish.
Develop, monitor and execute project plans and coordinate timely execution of major milestones, approvals, sign-offs and implementation. Coordinate release of deliverables to users.
Aggressively manage priorities and issues where conflicts arise; mediate and resolve project team conflicts.
Regularly report progress of project status, milestones, achievements and budgetary standing in both formal (e.g. Executive Steering Committee) and informal settings.
Work with vendors and suppliers to procure equipment and technology. Actively manage all vendor deliverables for the project. Organize RFP and POC equivalent phases of projects, if required. Guide project team in developing criteria for and participate in the evaluation of 3rd party vendors and software as well as due diligence exercises.
Communicate effectively with developers, database administrators, network analysts, systems analysts, senior management, project sponsors and business users.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have:
Expertise in defining strategy, application roadmap and managing delivery of application development programs in Capital Markets, including complex regulatory programs with multiple stakeholders and resources in multiple geographies.
At least 5-7 years PM experience in the Capital Markets technology, with proven people management skills.
Must have experience in running Iterative Waterfall and Agile regulatory projects.

PMP and CSM Certification
In depth knowledge of Capital Markets Products

Special conditions:
