Food Plant Manager
Reporting to the SVP of Factory Operations, the Food Plant Manager provides leadership for the effective operations of the plant by ensuring the development and implementation of best-in-class manufacturing processes, efficient maintenance of plant equipment and adherence to good manufacturing practices. This position is also responsible for ensuring that we adhere to all health & safety and food safety standards.

Develop and implement goals and objectives to meet the company’s vision, mission and strategic plans.
Responsible for adherence to all policies and procedures for Quality Assurance and Food Safety.
Manage safe, cost effective and efficient production of our products, relying upon supervisory, quality assurance, maintenance and sanitation resources to continue to improve against standard.
Purchase material inventory for the operation through approved vendors.
Create labour and production schedules and modify distribution schedules when needed.
Hire, train and manage the performance of the team.
Create a team environment among peers and team members. Promote employee morale and motivate through positive communications and proactive problem solving to ensure an efficient, stable and friendly work environment.
Provide hands on experience in day to day operations.
A minimum of 2 years experience in a supervisory role in the Food Service Industry.
The ability to optimize and use initiative on a daily and ongoing basis to execute production schedules through the use of planning, organizing and the controlling of resources.
Have strong communication skills in both oral and written English.
Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP plant experiences an asset.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple responsibilities with clear prioritization and organization skills.
Leadership skills to manage a food processing facility.
The ability to manage temperature-controlled products.
Experience in managing, motivating and directing a team.
