FUNCTION:

The Welding Production Manager for the midnight shift should be an energetic individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. The candidate is responsible for managing custom jobs and providing leadership skills to inspire a team of dedicated employees and to continue to make constant incremental improvements throughout their area of responsibility. The manager must possess a positive attitude, be a fit with the team and leadership requirements, and lead by example.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Knowledge and understanding of engineered welds and welding processes for pressure vessels and machined metal components using MIG, TIG, etc.;
  • Proven track record in achieving quality targets;
  • Knowledgeable in fabrication and welding, machining operations, engineered materials, gauging, calibration, and testing and inspection methods;
  • Resolve employee conflict and promote employee engagement;
  • Communicate within a team and supervise difficult situations in a professional manner;
  • Meet challenging deadlines in an efficient and profitable manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years’ industrial production environment;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Welder;
  • Minimum 2 years’ previous supervisory experience in a unionized metal manufacturing environment;
  • Minimum Yellow Belt or equivalent Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies to inspire continuous improvement and operating excellence;
  • Accredited CWB Welding Supervisor Certification considered an asset;
  • Maintain ISO 9001, CWB, and other certifications as required;
  • Read blueprints and engineering fabrication drawings;
  • Possess intermediate computer skills, specifically with MS Office.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.
