Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, the Night Shift Supervisor is responsible for supervising warehouse associates; scheduling, direct work, tracking performance and to ensure a safe working environment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily work and safety of all associates on night shift engaged in order selection, product replenishment and loading.
  • Supervise labour hours within budget. Prepare work schedules including overtime shifts as needed.
  • Manage and be actively involved in coaching, training, and performance management of new and existing associates to assist them in consistently meeting company productivity and customer service standards
  • Provide leadership and compliance on company safety programs, sanitation and loss prevention direction to night shift associates
  • Review night warehouse functions and various warehouse productivity reports. Suggest efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures and assist with implementation of changes on the night shift.
  • Conduct shipping and loading audits ensuring all required documentation is accurately completed including food safety and catch weight documentation and that product is handled and shipped within the specified temperature requirements and in peak condition
  • Food safety:
  • Responsible for compliance with all Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) comprising Sysco’s Food Safety Program, specific for the assigned role.
  • Assist Food Safety Program Manager in ensuring compliance to Sysco’s Food Safety Program that leads to compliance with third party certification and customer requirements.
  • Interprets Collective Agreement, trains and enforces Company policies and procedures and issues disciplinary action as deemed necessary
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience, including pallet jack and forklift experience.
  • High School diploma, post-secondary education an asset
  • First Aid/ CPR training will be considered an asset
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel, IDS, SWMS, Selector Pro (SOS), and Loader Pro (SLS) an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to formally present ideas effectively to individuals or groups
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Reliable, responsible, and accountable for appropriately managing confidential information
