Educational Research Assistant Ember

Job Description:
The Faculty of Engineering is seeking a strong candidate to contribute towards the development of the EMBER Program, an online summer bridging program to prepare incoming first year students for academic and social success. The program will reinforce fundamental knowledge in math, physics, and chemistry and provide an environment for social connections and engagement. Duties include the development and implementation of interactive learning modules, provide and deliver learning resources to students online and participation in student engagement activities. The individual will be expected to work closely in a team environment, including with fellow students, engineering faculty, and staff.

Start Date: August 3rd, 2020
End Date: August 28th, 2020
Wage: $18.00
Hours Per Week: 35
Work Schedule: Flexibility is required based on the needs of the course some shifts will be 9:00am-5:00pm while others will be 2:00-10:00pm but it depends on registration and needs of the course.

Qualifications:
  • Successfully completed the Level 1 engineering program and currently enrolled in any Engineering program at McMaster
  • Solid understanding of math, physics, and chemistry
  • Interest in education
  • Ability to work independently while being a contributing member of a team
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience in graphic design, video editing, and generation of online content is an asset (but not required)
