Your Opportunity:
As part of a child and adolescent mental health multidisciplinary team, you will assess and treat children, youth and families at home and in their communities. Carrying a caseload of up to 25 clients you will be responsible for mental health assessment, risk assessment, safety planning and case coordinating. Often collaborating with schools, pediatricians, family doctors and community agencies. Consultation with the Emergency department, Acute care and CAAMHPP services will be essential.

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will work as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team collaborating on the delivery of care for the needs of individuals, families and/or communities. You will be responsible for the intake, clinical interviews and screening of clients with addiction and mental health disorders. You will liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and work collaboratively with other team members as required. You may have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development and to provide supervision to practicum students.

Required Qualifications:
This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists. Social Workers and Psychologists: Completion of bachelor degree in Social Work or Psychology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW) or the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) Registered Nurses and Registered Psychiatric Nurses: Completion of an accredited nursing or psychiatric nursing education program. Active or eligible registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA).

Additional Required Qualifications:
5 years Mental Health experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ experience with children, teens and families (acute care preferred). Familiarity with CPS and Attachment theory. Completion of Brain Story Certification.
