The Group Service Manager is responsible for providing overall management and leadership to the dealership service operations. Reporting to the General Manager, you will bring proven expertise and responsiveness to the table every day on a team dedicated to unparalleled partnership and unwavering relationships with our customers, OEM partners and employees. What does this role look like to you?
Work with Branch and Service Managers to develop marketing programs to expand service department offerings in an effort to increase sales and gross margins
Direct involvement with Major Accounts, through regular communication with both Peterbilt and Customers – resolving issues as they arise ensuring customer satisfaction
Optimize processes that will result in benchmark efficiency, productivity, growth and return on sales
Work closely Branch Managers and Service Managers to develop accurate yearly budgets and implement Service Department policies and processes. Ensure quality controls are in place and continually improving for all internal, warranty and retail work
Ensure division's goals for productivity and performance are being met. If not undertake actions to develop a recovery plan
Ensure manufacturers training, tooling and customer service targets are met or exceeded
Ensure Provincial Department of Transportation Safety requirements for field service vehicles and operators are being met
Oversee Warranty Operations, maximizing recovery on all related operations. Direct and mentor Dealer Technical Communicator.
Review monthly income statements with Branch and Service Managers to develop action plans for meeting and exceeding targeted revenues and gross margins, appropriate expense levels, and efficient use of all resources.
Monitor Service departments and all activities while keeping apprised of significant developments in the branches, and interact effectively with all branch roles
Provide ongoing leadership and vision, always searching for new business opportunities and developing future growth of the company.
What are we looking for?
Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a minimum 5 years business management experience
Excellent work ethic, motivation and leadership skills
Industry knowledge and/or knowledge of OEM & competitors
Customer focused, comfortable with conflict resolution and driven to grow service sales through direct customer interaction
Confidence and presence to influence change, drive continuous improvement and make objective decisions
Work in a team environment with Service Managers and Branch Managers with travel to branches on a regular basis (overnight may be required)
Advanced understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department operations and ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
Attention to detail but still able to understand the big picture
