Position Summary

Stealth Monitoring is looking for a self-starter who enjoys optimizing and automating IOT edge technology & related processes. Reporting to the Director of Technology, our Network (IOT) / Cloud Engineer will work daily to design, troubleshoot & optimize the structure, performance, and security of our 24x7 high growth B2B/B2C global data networks, edge devices, and the collective solutions they deliver. Successful candidates need an extensive background passion for keeping up to date in all aspects of networking technology, enterprise policy-based end user computing and must possess excellent communication skills. Example customer interactions include deescalating complex IOT solutions in a Microsoft Windows centric environment. This is an exciting opportunity to help scale our market leading video surveillance, artificial intelligence and monitoring solutions while continuing to learn, explore and implement the latest in technology.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

Equipment Management/Setup

Contribute to the design and process automation for build, install, and management of on-prem or remote computer & network / IOT equipment (computers, IP cameras, sensors, modems / routers / switches)
Contribute to the design and management of network telemetry systems that continuously monitor edge device health including data consumption, uptime, security events & incidents
Contribute to the implementation and management of policy-based computing focused on automation and desired state configuration management in a Microsoft centric environment that extends from internal Video Monitoring Systems (VMS) to edge devices & Network Video Recorder (NVRs)
Maintain up-to-date inventory records including computer equipment, peripherals, software licences, and privileged accounts for shared use by a global team of IT technicians & infrastructure engineers
Assist with the design, implementation, and ongoing support of new software and features

Network/Site Management

Contribute to the design, optimization, and security of our 24x7 global hard wired, 4G / 5G wireless and hybrid multi-cloud enterprise data network (Azure / AWS)
Maintain, upgrade and ensure security of edge devices and networks during onboarding, operations and offboarding
Navigate and coach customer side technical resources on network setup & troubleshooting including VPN connectivity
Improve North American wireless device management systems to monitor consumption (Bell Canada / Rogers, Verizon / Sprint / T-Mobile)
Perform technology needs research and analysis

Office Responsibilities

Coach, Mentor and share knowledge with internal staff and customers around the globe on edge devices and edge network technology (hardware and software)
Produce and maintain technical documentation & FAQ guides at enterprise level quality standards
Act as a senior escalation point supporting internal technicians & engineer interactions with customers’ over the phone / email and minimally face-to-face to provide Tier-3 technical solutions (hardware / software)
Maintain an organized, secure workplace, ensuring appropriate password/ security/ encryption measures are taken
Ensure all protocols are observed and followed for the prescribed technical processes

Education Required

Post-secondary diploma/ degree in Computer Science / Engineering, Information Technology and/or equivalent work experience & certifications including:

Ubiquiti Broadband Routing & Switching Specialist (UBRSS) / Ubiquiti Broadband Routing & Switching Admin (UBRSA) / UniFi Network Specialist (UNS)
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT)
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert | MCSE: Core Infrastructure, MCSE: Mobility
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

Experience Required

5+ years of related experience as an Administrator, security professional or Senior Technical Engineer in medium to large sized computer and IOT / communications device networks

Core Competencies

Progressive Technical expertise in network infrastructure configurations (switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, etc.), desktops / laptops / mobile phones, and operating systems, including Linux, MS-Windows
Extensive administration & control experience on a 300+ internal, 3000+ external node network including firewalls & VLANs in a MS Windows centric environment (Azure AD, Windows server 2012-2019, Intune or similar Mobile Device Management (MDM)
Knowledge of security best practices including identity management and privileged access management with tools like Okta, SailPoint or similar
Tier-3 troubleshooting and monitoring with tools like Wireshark, Process Explorer, Zabbix, etc
Shell / PowerShell or similar language script development & maintenance
IOT architecture with a focus on video surveillance, physical access control and systems including GeoVision and Avigilon is an asset
Knowledge of network transmission protocols, packet prioritization & compression of video, audio & data over WAN
IP Telephony or VoIP routing experience is an assetT
Team Management/leadership experience is an asset
Excellent English oral, written, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are a must
