Host? Hostess? More like the restaurant welcoming committee. We're looking for an outgoing and energetic Restaurant Host/Hostess to join our team! Get ready to provide warm welcomes, heartfelt thanks, great dining experiences-and having a great time while doing it!
As a Restaurant Host/Hostess, you'll be responsible for ensuring the guests' first and last impressions are both positive and welcoming. You'll also ensure guests are seated in a prompt manner, provide a sincere and heartfelt thank you to each guest as they leave, and invite them to return.
Greet guests immediately upon their entrance; escort guests to tables or waiting areas, engage in friendly conversation as guests are seated, present menus and expedite servers to newly seated customers.
Monitor open dining sections for empty and cleaned tables; update the floor chart continuously throughout the shift to track open and occupied tables.
Estimate wait times for guests and ensure their needs are met while waiting; monitor guest waiting lists and update as guests are seated.
Clean, organize and stock menus at host stand; collect and return menus to host stand as needed.
Maintain host stand inventory of promotional items, mints, toothpicks and take-away menus, replenishing as necessary.
Handle guests inquiries and complaints in a professional manner; escalate to Restaurant Manager when needed.
Answer telephone calls; take and complete all to go orders.
Assist with to go order food deliveries within the resort as requested by manager.
Ensure restaurant entrance is clean and maintained, both inside and out, throughout shift; clean windows as necessary to ensure they are free of smudges and fingerprints.
Perform shift opening and closing duties as assigned such as sweeping and vacuuming dining area, cleaning windows, and cleaning guest restrooms.
Ensure guests restrooms are clean and adequately stocked throughout shift.
Work neatly, safely and under the sanitary guidelines of the Health Department Rules and Regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
High School Education (some HS education required)
Previous restaurant or customer service experience, preferred
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays
Basic computer proficiency including the ability to use email and internet
