Turning Point Youth Services is a multi-faceted and dynamic children's mental health agency committed to responding pro-actively and individually to the life challenges facing each of our clients. We are actively seeking a qualified and dedicated person to join us as an Assistant Supervisor of a residential treatment program


Working closely with the Residential Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor participates in all aspects of the day-to-day supervision and operation of the residence, and in the effective management, training and support of staff. The Assistant Supervisor also provides key administrative support to the program in terms of overseeing petty cash, scheduling, payroll and maintaining Ministry compliance and licensing standards.


  • Degree/Diploma in a related field (MSW, BSW, CYW) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with children/youth in a residential setting.
  • Previous supervisory experience an asset.
  • Demonstrated positive philosophy of care towards children and youth.
  • Demonstrated experience with the issues facing our at-risk youth population.
  • Experience with budgeting and fiscal responsibility.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and licensing standards.
  • Knowledge of programming and best practices for children and youth.
  • Knowledge of community resources and extensive networking experience.
  • Ability to manage crisis situations and resolve conflict.
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to help maintain a safe and comfortable physical plant in a good state of repair.
  • Ability to be part of the on-call rotation for all residences.
  • Sensitive to, and ability to work with, diverse staff and client groups.
  • Strong computer skills and report writing skills.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR and UMAB certifications.
