Position: Electronics Engineering Technologist / Electro-Mechanical Technician
Duties / Tasks
 Provides support to areas such sales, research, design, development, test, manufacturing or process improvement.
 Fabricate & assemble mechanical, electrical, or electronic components or assemblies.
 Modify, maintain, or repair electrical, electronic, or mechanical components, equipment, or systems to ensure proper functioning.
 Select electromechanical equipment, materials, components, or systems to meet functional specifications.
 Select and use laboratory, operational, or diagnostic techniques or test equipment to assess electromechanical circuits, equipment, processes, systems, or subsystems.
 Produce electrical, electronic, or mechanical drawings or other related documents or graphics necessary for electromechanical design, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
 Install or program computer hardware or machine or instrumentation software in microprocessor-based systems.
 Analyze engineering designs of logic or digital circuitry, motor controls, instrumentation, or data acquisition for implementation into new or existing automated, servo mechanical, or other electromechanical systems
 Perform as a member of a technical team utilizing effective communication skills.
 Utilizes routine test or diagnostic equipment. Ability to learn and use software tools.
 Receptive to mentoring. Participates in developing new approaches and techniques to achieve continuous improvement in all work processes.
 Documentation of job specific activities such as electronic design, modifications, data collection, and calibration.
 Able to utilize schematics, procedures, engineering drawings, and follow written/verbal instructions, including test procedures.
Qualifications
 Completion of a two- or three-year college program in electro-mechanical technician, electrical or electronics engineering technology, or an equivalent with 5 years in relevant experience in the last 10 years
 Canadian citizenship is required Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Canadian Government Security Clearances.
 Customer service oriented, cooperative, and dependable individual required
 Understanding of elementary problem-solving techniques required
 Strong experience in Microsoft Office.
 Preference for hands-on work in a production environment
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to produce well‑written reports and technical specifications.
 Ability to plan, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
 Ability to work independently and take initiative.
 Ability to work in a team environment.
 Experience with AutoCAD / Solid works or INVENTOR is considered an asset
 Valid driver’s license.
