The P&D driver reports directly to the Senior Operations Manager, Operations Manager & (Dispatcher) and is responsible for ensuring our customers are satisfied by picking up, and handling freight with the utmost care and in safest manner possible while following all policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook as well as appropriate legislation.
Pick up and deliver items from suppliers and customers in a timely and accurate manner and in accordance with set procedure, policies and protocols.
Must obey all rules of the road and drive in compliance with the Ministry of Transport and all aspects of the Highway Traffic Act.
Accurately complete all paperwork (manifests, BOLs etc.) and return it in accordance to set procedures.
Document; hours of service in driver logbook, complete inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route and post trip), incident/accident reports and maintenance reports as necessary and according to legislation and turn in appropriate copies to the safety department as per time schedule.
Properly perform tasks to assure safety and to prevent damage to freight. Ensure loads are secured to prevent shifting, falling and damage to the freight.
Count and inspect all shipments and make appropriate notations on manifests and/or bill of lading for any exception (overage, shortage, damage). Promptly report any OS&D problems or improper loading to dispatch.
Perform all work in a safe, efficient manner and operate all equipment in an appropriate and safe way.
Must wear required personal protective equipment at all times during work hours, (PPE) as deemed by Rogueâ€™s Safety department.
Handle all dangerous goods or WHMIS regulated freight in a safe, correct manner in accordance with legislation and provided training.
Maintain a clean and safe work area including the cab and trailer.
Follow all required company policies and quality control standard operating procedures.

G. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be physically able to stand, sit and walk around dock for long period of time and in trailers on surfaces that can sometimes be slippery and wet, be able to move freight with or without the aid of freight handling equipment, be able to bend, twist, climb and move about in small spaces, and be able to lift and reach for objects.
Must be able to sit for long periods of time, while at times dealing with stressful road conditions in a safe manner.
Non-climate controlled environment while on the cross dock and out on road.
When completing work in the office demands are those associated with a normal office environment such as extended periods of sitting, computer usage and exposure to white noise.
Must be capable of lifting or moving freight of 50 pounds
