Working under the general supervision and guidance of the Supervisor, Health Information/Records Management, the Administrative Support ll - Records Management provides operational administrative support for Records Management. Within a team environment the incumbent is responsible for performing activities which directly support he security, maintenance and integrity of the patient through the life cycle regardless of medium (electronic and/or paper). The Administrative Support ll - Records Management will support Edmonton Zone HIRM sites in preparation of Connect Care activities with respect to education and training for the waves. This will involve support for orientation and training staff, at multisites, to connect care by providing coverage to backfill staff attending training, work on modules and courses in MyLearning Link and User Acceptance Training. This position will float to EZ sites to file late report, clinic visits and support the scanning of ER visits into Netcare. Ability to work at multisites to ensure workload is current and coverage is maintained. Assigned duties will be a combination of above and may vary dependent upon site assigned, role assigned and shift.

Additional Required Qualifications:
Typing speed of 40 WPM required with testing prior to interview. Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required. Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to change. Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles. Team player demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, modeling behaviors that support and contribute positively to team operations and working relationships. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be physically able to perform duties involving standing, sitting, bending, reaching and stretching for extended periods of time. Post-secondary education applicable to position – MOA/Unit Clerk/Admitting Clerk preferred. One (1) year related experience in a hospital or medical office setting preferred. Experience with computer applications common to Health Records (e.g. VAX, Netcare, PowerTrac, PowerMonitor, eCLINICIAN) is preferred. Experience working with a terminal digit filing system with Health Record processes is preferred. Knowledge of HIA (Health Information Act) & FOIP (Freedom of Information and Privacy).
