ABOUT OUR OPERATION
Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. We have been operating Meadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years. The mine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 is anticipated to be the last year of the Meadowbank mine production and it is now transitioning to process the satellite deposit Amaruq for August 2019.
YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Planning General Supervisor supervises the planning and reliability team and works in close collaboration with members of the other departments of the mine and the Nunavut Service Groups. The General Supervisor ensures the improvement of the department and is responsible for developing the maintenance plan strategy in partnership with the asset management group. The General Supervisor ensures that the goals and objectives are attained, while respecting and encouraging Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
Coordinate the planning and reliability for all maintenance on site;
Ensure that the maintenance strategy plan is optimal according to maintenance best practices and corporate vision;
Provide accurate KPI’s to the maintenance team to help decision making;
Provide specific training and development opportunities for immediate employees;
Ensure that equipment availability meets or exceeds all production requirements by ensuring that all fleets are maintained in a safe, efficient and effective manner linked to the maintenance plan strategy;
Ensure that maintenance plan is operational for all new equipment;
Support the maintenance team in budget/forecast/month end processes;
Coach and mentor subordinates in regard to employee relations, safety, environmental concerns, productivity and cost issues and address inappropriate behavior as required;
Ensure that reports are completed accurately and in a timely manner;
Recommend procedures and methods to improve employee safety;
Lead by example and encourage adherence to Agnico Eagle’s Health and Safety Code of Conduct.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
5+ years’ experience in planning and maintenance;
Proven experience in supervision;
Experience in maintenance in mining or other heavy industry is an asset;
JDE working knowledge is considered an asset;
Hold or be eligible for a Level 2 Supervisor Certification, as per the Mining Act;
Hold or be eligible for a valid First Aid Certificate;
Experience working in a multicultural environment;
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to lead and work in team;
Strong ability to effectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates must attain a passing grade on a Speexx English language assessment.
Schedule: 7 days of work, followed by 7 days for transportation and rest; flights departing from all communities in the Kivalliq region, Mirabel or Val-d’Or, Quebec.
