Summary

This position requires inspection, repair & performing routine and preventative maintenance on equipment, such as a tractor trailers, petroleum trucks, farm equipment and pick-up trucks. This position will be working four (4) evenings per week, Monday to Thursday from 4:00pm to approximately 2:00am.

Responsibilities:
Supervising and verifying the work of a registered Apprentice.
Provide vehicle troubleshooting and diagnostic repairs.
Conduct all phases of truck and trailer maintenance including but not limited to; oil changes, inspections, brake and shoe replacement, suspension repair and replacement, air and electrical trouble shooting and repair, clutch adjustments and replacement, rear end and transmission replacement, minor engine repair, heating and air conditioning repair.
Install new and add-on equipment.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs to equipment in order to ensure that the equipment is available, reliable and safe to operate
Test installed, or repaired equipment to ensure optimum performance.
Monitor parts usage, reporting on any materials issues
Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies
Commitment to personal safety, the safety of others and safety to the environment. Commitment to ensuring safe working conditions and adherence to occupational health and safety regulations.
Responsible for working with suppliers ordering parts, creating work orders, working with customers and drivers with equipment issues and scheduling.
Perform other maintenance work. E.g. Cleaning and lubricating equipment.
Keep detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation.
Maintain a working knowledge of changes in technology and repair techniques.
Assist in the preparation of preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.
And any other duties that can reasonably be expected.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Certified mechanic’s license is required 310T.
Proven and credible experience working with Petroleum trucks is highly desirable.
Proven mechanical abilities in gas and diesel automotive repairs.
Strong understanding of truck electronics.
Ability to work independently.
Experience with routine maintenance operations.
Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
Able to work well under pressure.
Strong attention to detail.

Other:
Valid Driver’s license. AZ License if desirable.
Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Occasional travel to off-site locations may be required.
Work both indoors and outdoors.
