Administrative Assistant/Assistant Operations Manager. We are a small independent primary school that is welcoming and joyful. This positon involves being a welcoming contact person for parents and students; overseeing accounts receivable; records management; and administrative support to the Principal and Operations Manager. As a small organization, all staff multi-task and happily jump-in and take on tasks that are not strictly part of their job description; and work supportively with each other. This position will start as two mornings per week this school year; increasing 3 to 4 mornings a week next school year; and increasing upwards to 3.5 full-days per week in future.

  • Ability to effectively manage accounts receivable (knowledge of bookkeeping programs not required; however, basic understanding of bookkeeping).
  • Excellent written communication skills, including technical writing, with the ability to write clearly, succinctly and professionally whilst also being friendly.
  • Proficient with computers, online forms, and navigating the digital world. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to anticipate future needs and planning.

Experience/Education:

This position will start, at the latest, on January 7, 2019. It may start as soon as November 2019.

The staff school year is approximately the last ten days of August through the third or fourth week of June. During the last week of August/first week of September hours will increase to approximately 5 to 6 part- or full-days. There are 4 weeks during the school year when the school is closed including 1 week fall break; 2 week winter break; 1 week spring break. The school is closed over the summer. There may be some intermittent work hours during the summer break. The administrative assistant may also request a leave of absence in January.

Salary or contract rate will be dependent on skills, experience and education. Due to the long training period, wages will increase annually in the first three years as proficiency increases.
