Pourquoi ce role est-il important?

Role Mandate:
Lead, coach and mentor the Translation team to ensure high quality, consistent and error free translated packaging copy delivery. Ensure Translation team meets goals of on time, on budget translated packaging copy that is accurate and error free.

Accountabilities:
Translation

Provide consistent delivery of consumer-focused translation for the French-Canadian market, compliant with Canadian packaging, marketing & advertising regulations.
Translate and influence packaging components including product name and descriptors, creative marketing copy, nutrition information, ingredients, allergens, and claims.
Ensure translation department outputs are consistent while respecting brand standards and internal style guides and identify opportunities for ongoing improvement.
Work with copywriters, regulatory affairs, proofreaders, product teams, graphic designers and other stakeholders to ensure on-time delivery and execution of Loblaw control brands’ market strategy on-pack.
Review and provide feedback as necessary on copy and artwork circulations.
Manage design translation exception process.

People Leadership, coaching and development

Support Leadership in meeting departmental goals and prioritizing workflow.
Drive towards performance targets/KPIs as defined by the team.
Train and support full-time and freelance resources.
Identify opportunities, support and implement processes as they apply to translation.
Maintain up to date knowledge on industry best practices and trends.
Manage, coach and lead the Translation team using IDP and performance objectives process.

Internal and external partnership development and sustainment

Participate in cross functional meetings and other miscellaneous or adhoc projects as required.
Coordinate and collaborate work and negotiate timelines and process issues accordingly.
Make recommendations on policies or procedures and align with leadership and larger team as it relates to implementation of process improvement initiatives.

Role Requirements:
Bilingual, Canadian French.
College diploma or higher in related field.
Translation certificate would be essential or bilingual certificate.
Knowledge of how to prioritize workflow and manage team in a dynamic environment.
Strong communication skills and a strong ability to build relationships.
5-7 years of professional experience translating packaging for a large organization.
3-5 years of experience leading a fast-paced team with multiple priorities.
