Role Purpose: Responsible for oversight and supervision of the Live Haul Driver & Broiler Shunter teams and related equipment and duties.
· Responsible for performance management of a fleet of live haul driver and broiler shunters.
· Ability to balance functioning during the non-traditional hours of drivers and traditional business hours
· Responsible for budgeting process for live haul and broiler shunting including regular reporting
· Accountable for meeting budget targets
· Accountable for maintenance and up-time management of live haul equipment
· Accountable and responsible for processes and practices required to be performed for live haul drivers and broiler shunters
· Accountable for maintenance and up-time management of live haul equipment

· Lead and drive the transition to digitization and digital processes and practices for drivers and shunters
· Accountable for driver communications
· Responsible for union communications as it relates to live haul drivers and shunters
· Responsible for ensuring live haul’s influence on the desired Maple Lodge Farms customer experience with broiler growers and Canadian fowl suppliers
· Adheres to all animal welfare procedures, protocols and the timely execution of Live Haul transportation.
· Actively involved with various cross-functional improvement objectives.
· Policies, Processes & Procedures
*Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
* Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of improved Logistics processes, policies and procedures.
* Adhere/comply with company policies and procedures.
* Minimum 3 years demonstrated experience in people, change and dispute resolution management and have the potential to move to more senior roles within Maple Lodge Farms
* AZ license and driving experience to create credibility an asset
* Leading people management skillset
* Experience in long haul transportation regulations and equipment an asset
* Supervisory experience within a unionized environment an asset
* Poultry transport experience an asset;
* Knowledge of animal welfare procedures an asset;
* Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.;
* Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, Loss Control, etc.;
* Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities;
* Knowledge of process improvement tools;
* Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;
* Computer literacy (MS Office), Intermediate Excel skills required;
· Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in a related field an asset.
