A large and complex organization, eHealth is comprised of 30+ clinical and non-clinical program (service) areas that all work together to support health care providers and teams across the province in delivering the best possible care to patients, providers, citizens, and health system users. Programs range from primary care to acute care, and includes laboratories, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Additional programs that also support patient care and information, include Virtual Care, the MySaskHealthRecord, and the Provincial Electronic Health Record. eHealth is also responsible for the administration of various pieces of legislation to manage the registration of/changes to all vital event records (e.g. birth, marriage, death, etc.), registration of legal name changes, registration of adoptions, and for maintaining the provincial health registry for health services eligibility and distribution of health services cards.

The Role:
This two year, part-time term position (working Monday, Wednesday and Friday) offers meaningful work that can make a real difference to the health and well-being of Saskatchewan people. As a Mailroom Clerk, the successful candidate will assist with the clerical duties to ensure our customers receive excellent service. To ensure success, it is important for the Mailroom Clerk to focus on providing world-class service to a wide range of customers and stakeholders. Some duties will include opening and sorting incoming and outgoing mail, attaching payments by cash, cheque, and credit card to applications, maintaining paper filing system, searching and entering information/edits in two databases, reviewing applications for health cards and vital events for completeness, and assisting with short-term projects involving searching, retrieving and editing information, tracking results, physically moving files, etc.

The knowledge and skills required for this position will be obtained through an office Administration Certificate (or in process of obtaining) or equivalent of education and experience. This position requires knowledge of the operations and administrative procedures of an office environment, including knowledge of spreadsheet, database and word processing software in order to type and format documents, and to enter and retrieve information.

Preference will be given to candidates who most closely exhibit the following skills and abilities:

  • Analytical - Ability to process high volumes of work within given time constraints
  • Organizational - Demonstrated prioritization and organization abilities
  • Communication - Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal with customers and team members
  • Teamwork/Independence - Effectively work independently and participate as a team member to meet the needs of our customers and co-workers
