Autism Partnership & Behaviour Therapy and Learning Centre are agencies dedicated to providing behaviour intervention and educational programming for children with autism and other developmental disabilities, and their families. Specializing in the use of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Discrete Trial Teaching, we believe in comprehensive intervention/programming designed to meet the unique, individual needs of each child we work with.
AP provides predominately home-based services devoted to enhancing overall quality of life through treatment focused upon the development of improved communication and social skills, self-help and adaptive functioning skills, play and leisure skills, physical and motor development, cognitive abilities, and behaviour.
BTLC is dedicated to developing and providing, in collaboration with parents and specialists, dynamic individualized program plans (IPP) that meet the needs of each individual child that attends our school program.
Client assessment and treatment (direct and consultative)
Development of individualized treatment programs for clients, with ongoing evaluation of client progress in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team
Consultation with parents and teachers, for coordination of school and home programs
Documentation to support goal planning and ongoing client evaluation, including Individualized Program Plans (IPP) – classroom programs, Coordinated Service Plans (CSP) –home programs, as well as Occupational Therapy Assessment and Treatment Summary reports
Supervision, support, and training for educational assistants (classroom programs) and aides (home programs) by demonstrating learning strategies/activities, providing feedback regarding strategies, and making recommendations/changes to learning activities
Parent support and education
Preparation and provision of treatment materials to support client’s treatment goals; provision of test materials
Travel to our office, homes and schools within the city of Calgary
Attendance at monthly meetings with the multidisciplinary team, program review meetings with parents, and periodic interaction with government agencies
Tracking, preparation and submission of invoices to AP and BTLC for services rendered
This is a permanent part time, contract or employee position working daytime hours with the possibility of transitioning to full time pending on availability.
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution
Proof of registration with ACSLPA
Professional liability insurance (general commercial liability insurance is also recommended)
Experience working with preschool children (experience working with children with autism and other disabilities is an asset)
Knowledge of and/or experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred but not required
Demonstrates flexibility, strong interpersonal and excellent organizational skills
Passionate, positive attitude and the desire to celebrate both big and small accomplishments
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
