Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in health, social or behavioural sciences
Master’s degree in health, social or behavioural sciences preferred
Current Driver License (Ontario) Class G
Current Insurance coverage (must provide a copy)
Provides own vehicle
Board Certified Associate Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) OR/ Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) or the ability to sit for the board certification exam in 12 months from date of hire for either designation. preferred
1 years related experience
Ability to develop and implement behavioural assessment and treatment
Knowledge of behavioural techniques and crisis intervention and prevention
Conflict resolution and problem-solving ability
Demonstrated teaching skills
Proven leadership ability
Demonstrated ability to work well within a team
Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
Ability to demonstrate a customer service philosophy
Availability to work a flexible work schedule (some evenings and weekends may be required)
Knowledge and experience working in a community based intervention model
Knowledge and experience working with persons with brain injury
Knowledge and experience providing rehabilitation
Knowledge and experience providing applied behavioural analysis
Knowledge and experience providing consultation
Experience working collaboratively on a multidisciplinary team
Access to a reliable vehicle is required
More than 2 years related experience preferred
Evidence of satisfactory attendance record

Accountabilities:
The Behavioral Therapist works in the community to assess, develop, implement and teach external providers specific client programs. This role is mobile, requiring driving to client locations.

Assess suitability of potential clients for to receive program services in conjunction with the Director of ABI Program Development and Delivery.
Liaise with referral sources and external care providers to provide input and education.
Provide teaching of behavioural and rehab interventions to external caregivers.
Deliver community based learning to agencies.
Provide teaching of behavioural and rehab intervention to rehab therapists and to external care providers.
Consult and co-ordinate client and program activities.
Provide and participate in educational activities.
Prepare documentation.
Assess and develop client and program goals.
Plan, develop and implement behavioural assessments/interventions as appropriate.
Develop and oversee implementation and evaluation of service plans.
Provide behavioural on-call support.
Provide educational opportunities, and on-going support to role of Developmental Rehab Therapist.
Participate in team and/or hospital wide committees as requested.
Provide program statistics.
Participate where required in the revenue generating services of the Hospital.
Assist with orientation, training, education and evaluation of staff, and external care providers.
Develop programs that incorporate CPI techniques.
Participate in research and quality improvement activities.
Present, promote and represent the ABI Service at conferences and other promotion events as required.
