The Draftsperson will join a multidisciplinary team working in the power distribution group. The incumbent will take part in and provide support for projects in the utility distribution engineering sector.
Produce drawings for designs created by colleagues Prepare civil and electrical engineering drawings and sketches for substation projects
Assist engineers and senior technologists with studies and the design of underground electrical infrastructure projects in municipal rights of ways.
Carry out quantitative calculations
Prepare drawings for designs and for construction speciﬁcations
A diploma in Electrical or Civil Engineering
Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD software applications
Experience with SpidaCalc structural analysis software would be an asset
Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written)
Motivated by challenges
Familiarity with municipal infrastructure is an asset
Valid Ontario class G driver’s license and access to vehicle for site visits (owned or rented as required)
Competency in MS Office (e.g. Excel, Word)
