The Office of Continuing Studies invites applications for the following anticipated course offering in the Fall 2019 semester.

Introduction to Entrepreneurship for Artists & Designers: Turning your Idea into a Viable Business

October 23, 2019 – November 27, 2019; Wednesdays, 6:30pm – 9:30pm

In this course, students will explore the business potential of their own creative ideas. Students are introduced to research tools and fundamental business planning principals. Topic include business models, business strategy case studies, developing markets, budgeting, decision making, business trends, risk analysis, operating systems, finance, and legal issues. Students will use this information to understand if and how their idea could become a viable business and create a detailed business plan.

Responsibilities:
Course outline development, preparation and delivery; participation in Instructor and program meetings

Qualifications:
a post-secondary degree in business, art/design, or have comparable professional accomplishments;
expertise building and managing creative small businesses;
excellent interpersonal and presentation/written communication skills;
experience teaching adult learners at an advanced level.
Terms of Employment: The contract is for the duration of the course only and is subject to sufficient enrolment.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience, plus 6% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, as applicable, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act (ESA).
