Performs duties in line with specific area of study. Incumbent is attending a formal University Internship program from a recognized University.

Detailed Description

As this position involves work that is subject to the Canadian Government's Controlled Goods Program (CGP), your employment offer is conditional upon the successful completion of a security assessment by Celestica and/or its authorized agents, per the Controlled Goods Regulations.

This role is ideal for students who have completed their 3rd from Mechanical/Aerospace/Industrial Engineering program. This opportunity is performed in Celestica's Mississauga location.

Students will have an opportunity to work on a variety of projects within our Aerospace & Defense facility, working within Lean and Six Sigma, Test Engineering & Manufacturing Engineering teams.

Work is guided by detailed instructions, routines, and procedures. Works under close supervision and receives detailed instructions on all work assignments. May work autonomously once proficiency in the tasks is achieved. May be given more complex duties as proficiency is gained. Deals directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members with guidance.

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
Process development
Developing and updating documentation
Continuous process improvement
Developing fixtures and special tools for the manufacturing process
Manufacturing Cell design and layout
Work and communicate with other functional teams to support manufacturing development

Fulfills requirements of University Internship program in a Support function whereby the duties are categorized as "Indirect" labour. Duties fulfill the requirements of the specific internship program.

Physical Demands, duties of this position are varied and will include:

Duties of this position are performed in a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments.
Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data
Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, etc).
Basic manufacturing system knowledge.
