Busters Towing is a busy 24-hour operation that has been proudly serving the City of Vancouver for over 70 years. We are trusted towing professionals with the largest fleet of light, medium, and heavy duty tow trucks in Western Canada.
We currently have an opportunity for someone to join our team as a Dispatcher, on a temporary basis, with potential of turning into a permanent position. The shift time available is Wednesday to Sunday from 3 pm to 11 pm. Candidates must have excellent communication and time management skills, as the Dispatcher role is the primary point of contact for all Tow Truck Drivers, you will need to be an expert at multitasking and able to solve problems independently and quickly.
Training for the dispatch position will take place at the office and will include extensive knowledge of the geography of Vancouver, candidates must know the basics at minimum, and willing to study and learn all areas of Vancouver. Once training is complete and skill set has been established, the employee may choose to work from home remotely.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicating with drivers over the 2 way radio
- Providing drivers with information such as location, type of vehicle, instructions
- Data entry, high accuracy
- Prioritizing emergency calls
- Keeping track of jobs, making sure they are distributed fairly
- Customer Service answering inbound and making outbound calls
- Providing daily reports to Management
- Following safety procedures
Requirements:

- Has Secondary School Diploma

Job Duties:
- Dispatch personnel according to written schedules and work orders, or as required by emergency situations
- Maintain contact with drivers throughout their shifts and address any routing issues they might have
- Update customers on the status of their deliveries including any delays that occur
- Maintain vehicle operator work records using computerized or manual methods and ensure time sheets and payroll summaries are completed accurately
