The Real Property Division (RPD), within the Ministry of Citizens’ Services, provides everything needed to manage the Province’s real estate portfolio, including office space, courthouses and correctional facilities. The Strategic Real Estate Services (SRES) team, comprised of professionals from a variety of backgrounds (sales, marketing, First Nations consultation and communications) manages the disposal of assets surplus to government in order to provide revenue to the Province, and generate economic activity in communities throughout BC.

The Manager, Real Estate Partnerships leads the development of large and complex real estate assets and provides strategic advice to government on business opportunities to achieve government goals and objectives. The position provides expertise to formulate and develop partnership opportunities that yield best asset value, integrate government program needs, and lead the development of business cases to meet program needs across government by leveraging under-utilized or surplus public sector real estate assets.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

Post-secondary education.
Significant formal education in real estate, business finance, architecture or urban planning, or equivalent education and experience.
Five years current and progressively more senior experience in the fields of real estate or urban planning.
Experience in a leadership role in the planning and implementation of complex land use or real estate projects.
Experience managing stakeholder relationships and communications.
Experience working with municipal officials and staff on land-use planning, partnership development, or real estate transactions.
Experience navigating the real estate development process.

Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

Experience supervising/managing staff (professional and technical experts).
Experience in governmental approval processes, including development of Cabinet and Treasury Board submissions, government procurement and contract management policies, processes, and administrative standards.
