Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Analytics & Insights, Centre of Excellence (COE), the User Experience (UX) Designer is responsible for ensuring visualization excellence and design principles are ingrained in all analytics content Business Analytics produces.

In our fast growing Business Analytics Centre of Excellence, there is a need for talented and passionate individuals to design, create, deploy, and evolve our data analytics platforms.

Our growing mandate to deliver Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Data Solutions requires an experienced data visualization practitioner to accelerate the development of our strategic analytics projects in support of our business stakeholders.

What will you do?

Enable the Analytics Centre of Excellence to develop and rollout visual best practices for its Tableau products with design thinking and user experience as a foundation
Take ownership to drive the UX strategy - be an evangelist for UX practices organization
Develop user scenarios, personas, user flows, design concepts, low and high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes, UI standards documents, and other design documents as needed.
Perform user experience research and leverage these insights to roll-out visual best practices
Define the solution approach based on experience design principles
Demonstrate the solutions via information architecture, wireframes and visual design leveraging rapid prototyping and agile methodology
Evaluate the design via usability testing
Communicate the design, best practices and standards to stakeholders
What do you need to succeed?

Expert knowledge of Interaction design, visual design and user experience research
Experience delivering in agile sprints and rapid prototyping
Hands on creation of information architectures, wireframes, workflows, low to high fidelity prototypes, to explain and negotiate design solutions with key stakeholders.
Experience in creating personas, customer journey maps based on use cases
Strong understanding of web and mobile technology (front-end focused).
Expansion and redesign of our self-serve content in Tableau
Exploration of digital decision support
Conveying complex concepts using easy to understand infographics
Project execution skills with experience taking project from concept to launch in a matrix environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
What else would be nice to have?

Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital design and user experience with a strong desire to focus on user-centered design and responsive designs
Solid understanding of front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JS, etc.)
Strong background in visual analytics tools like Tableau
Solid UX Practice/Process
University degree or certification in User Experience related field or equivalent work experience
Solid portfolio demonstrating impactful customer experiences, including experience developing digital products from initial concept through to implementation.
Design experience ranging across web and mobile (mobile web and native applications)
Strong knowledge and experience designing wireframes and interactive prototypes using industry software (e.g. Sketch and inVision)
Well-versed in current accessibility standards
Proven track record and a passion for designing compelling interfaces.
Excellent design, verbal, writing and presentation skills.
Knowledge of current web standards and the latest trends
Ability to successfully manage and deliver on multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities
Experience working in agile methodology is a must
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite of products including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
