The Purchasing Associate position requires an individual that is self-motivated and adaptable, able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, organize a diverse workload and make suggestions and decisions within the scope of responsibility.
This position performs duties of the following roles:
Configuration Management (CM) Coordinator
Process and release engineering change requests (ECRs) and improvement requests (IRs)
Process and release deviations/waivers, engineering change proposals and project work directives
Process release/distribution notes, software release notes and other storage request forms
Prepare quotations, review bids and prepare commercial analysis
Negotiate final details of purchase orders
Award orders in compliance with group policy and procedure
Process Request for Material Approval forms
Maintain engineering database through rationalization of existing data and removing anomalies or obsolete parts
Process VARs, engineering change orders (ECOs) and IRs as they apply to part changes
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
Familiarity with working in a network environment and database management
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
Purchasing or data entry experience is considered an asset
The ability to meet the requirements outlined in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program is mandatory. All employees will be required to apply for and receive a Government Security Clearance.
