The Opportunity:
We’re looking for an Estates Administrator to join our Operations team.

Reporting to the Supervisor, Tax and Estates the Estates Administrator is responsible for the review, preparation, settlement and taxation filing of client estate accounts.

What your day looks like:
Duties and Regulatory Responsibilities – 60%

Performs estates settlements, journal processing, issuance of tax documents for estates accounts, address estate related inquiries/issues per internal deadlines
Provide assistance or coverage and assist when required.
Be pro-active in offering assistance when required and maintaining a positive attitude as a member of the team
Assists in training new EA Administrators

Audits and Risk Control – 30%

Review current process of monthly audits, pro-actively make recommendations for improvement to the Senior or Supervisor

Document Analysis and Maintenance – 10%

Submits updates for Estate Checklist and procedures on Procedure Centre in kXg once approved by the Supervisor
Updates departmental procedures and manuals per trustee or regulatory changes
Actively shares knowledge with the team, Registered Plans and Tax depending if these departments are impacted


Your experience and skills:
Post-secondary education
minimum of 2 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in Operations or Estates
Industry knowledge of MFDA, IIROC,CRA and RQ rules and regulations preferred
Excellent communication and written skills
Pro-active in problem solving and presenting recommendations for review and approval
Extremely detail oriented and accurate
Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and maintain composure
Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Word and Excel an asset
